The Valletta Pageant of the Seas will return to the Grand Harbor on Saturday 25 June with a varied show paying homage to the 80th anniversary of the Santa Marija Convoy’s arrival on August 15 1942. This biannual event, which has now found its place firmly in the Grand Harbour’s calendar, was announced today at a press conference by the Minister for the National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government Owen Bonnici, together with the Chairman of the Valletta Cultural Agency Jason Micallef. As of last night, the façades of Sant’Anton Palace and the Verdala Palace have been lit in red in recognition of the thousands of blood donors, and to raise more awareness about the constant need for blood donations. The façades of these Presidential Palaces will remain lit until World Blood Donor Day on the 14th of June. This year’s theme chosen by the World Health Organization is “Donating blood is an act of solidarity.
