The European Commission approved Malta’s national programme for the European Social Fund Plus for the 2021-2027 financial period. Collectively, the programme provides for a total budget of around €205 million and will give Malta the opportunity to support investment in its human capital, which remains the country’s most important resource. Investment under the ESF+ programme has the objective of strengthening capacities in all sectors falling within the scope of the ESF+ regulation, namely employment, education, health and social sectors, with the objective of improving and adapting services to new and emerging needs. THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT 15 companies and entities join the strinacrowdfunding.mt initiative
15 companies and entities joined the strinacrowdfunding.mt campaign in aid of The Malta Community Chest Fund (MCCF). During the launch of the third edition of this digital platform, President George Vella said that these businesses and entities voluntarily chose to be part of strinacrowdfunding.mt and committed to collect a small donation from each customer and pass it on to the MCCF during l-Istrina on 26th December. Some of the companies have created promotional initiatives like BCRS which, from 14th November until Christmas, will offer the chance to those returning beverage containers to the 300 Reverse Vending Machines to pass
THE NATIONAL AUDIT OFFICE Joint Visit by Mr Leo Brincat and Dr George Marius Hyzler to the National Audit Office
This morning, Mr Leo Brincat and Dr George Marius Hyzler, outgoing Member and incoming Member of the European Court of Auditors respectively, made a joint visit at the National Audit Office, Floriana. On their arrival, they were greeted by Mr Charles Deguara, Auditor General, and Mr Noel Camilleri, Deputy Auditor General. In a short welcoming address, Mr Deguara conveyed his Office’s appreciation for the extensive collaboration extended by Mr Brincat during his six year tenure as a Member of the Court, as evidenced by the various joint NAO-ECA activities organised throughout these years. Major league baseball pitcher Cristian Javier and the Houston Astros bullpen combined on just the second no-hitter in World Series history, silencing a booming lineup and boisterous ballpark as the Astros defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 5-0 Wednesday night to even the matchup at two games each. The only previous no-hitter in the World Series was a perfect game by Don Larsen of the New York Yankees against the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1956. Movies Return to Kashmir After 33 Years
The movies have returned to Indian-administered Kashmir after an absence of more than three decades.
