Nominations of Candidates   The Electoral Commission notifies that it will receive nominations by candidates for the Casual Election to elect a councillor in the Local Council of St Julian’s after a vacancy has arisen following the election of councillor Albert Buttigieg to the House of Representatives up to Wednesday 9th November 2022 at noon.   Candidates may submit their nomination  personally at the Electoral Office at the Counting Complex in Naxxar as from Monday 7th November 2022, up to Wednesday 9th November 2022, between 10:00 and 12:00 noon, or online through the link:  https://electoral.gov.mt/nominations, as from Monday, 7th November 2022

US Flu Season Off to Fast Start as Other Viruses Spread

The U.S. flu season is off to an unusually fast start, adding to an autumn mix of viruses that have been filling hospitals and doctors’ waiting rooms. Death in CRISPR Gene Therapy Study Sparks Search for Answers

The lone volunteer in a study involving a gene-editing technique has died, and those behind the trial are now trying to figure out what killed him. Terry Horgan, a 27-year-old who had Duchenne muscular dystrophy, died last month, according to Cure Rare Disease, a Connecticut-based nonprofit founded by his brother, Rich, to try and save him from the fatal condition.
