2624TH MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE OF PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVES PART I (DEPUTIES)

Malta’s Deputy Permanent Representative, Neil Kerr, chaired the 2624th meeting of the Permanent Representatives Committee Part I (Deputies), also known as COREPER I.

In addition to approving ‘I’ items, which are mostly issues that were agreed to at the Council’s technical Working Party level (see attached agenda), today’s meeting discussed the following:

WEDNESDAY 12 APRIL 2017 (10:00)

– Setting of the provisional agenda for the Council meeting (Agriculture and Fisheries) on 11 May 2017

(For the items in the remit of the Permanent Representatives Committee)

– Proposal for a Decision of the European Parliament and of the Council on the participation of the Union in the Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area (PRIMA) jointly undertaken by several Member States (First reading) (Legislative deliberation)

= Presidency debriefing on the outcome of the trilogue

– Implementation of the Marrakesh Treaty (First reading) (Legislative deliberation)

1. Proposal for a Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on certain permitted uses of works and other subject-matter protected by copyright and related rights for the benefit of persons who are blind, visually impaired or otherwise print disabled and amending Directive 2001/29/EC on the harmonisation of certain aspects of copyright and related rights in the information society

2. Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on the cross-border exchange between the Union and third countries of accessible format copies of certain works and other subject-matter protected by copyright and related rights for the benefit of persons who are blind, visually impaired or otherwise print disabled
