2629TH MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE OF PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVES PART II

On 24 May 2017, Malta’s Permanent Representative to the European Union, Marlene Bonnici, chaired the 2629th meeting of the Permanent Representatives Committee Part II, also known as COREPER II.

In addition to approving ‘I’ items which are mostly issues that were agreed to at the Council’s technical Working Party level (see attached agenda), today’s meeting discussed the following:

– EES: Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing an Entry/Exit System (EES) to register entry and exit data and refusal of entry data of third country nationals crossing the external borders of the Member States of the European Union and determining the conditions for access to the EES for law enforcement purposes and amending Regulation (EC) No 767/2008 and Regulation (EU) No 1077/2011 (First reading)
