DPM Temesgen Reaffirms Continued Focus on Peace and Good Governance


Addis Ababa: The main focus of the government will continue to be protecting peace and solving problems of governance, Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh said.

He made the above remark at the budget performance of the concluded Ethiopian fiscal year and this year of executive institutions accountable to the Prime Minister.

In his opening speech, Temesgen said success has been registered in the concluded budget year.

This has enabled to create a conducive environment for the continuity of the all round development of the country, he added.

Although the focus given to peace created favorable environment to development works, a lot remains to be done, according to the deputy premier.

The implementation of the macroeconomic reform implemented at the beginning of this fiscal year is, therefore, a big step, he underscored.

Temesgen further called on the institutions for exemplary performances that help realize the reform.

hiopian fiscal year has imporved at the end of the year.

According to Temesgen, solving governance problems and ensuring the safety of citizens will remain to be the priority of the government.

Highlighting the effectiveness of the ongoing inclusive national dialogue process across the country, he stated that it will be strengthened in this budget year.

The deputy prime minister concluded by urging the institutions to lead by example in addressing governance concerns during the Ethiopian budget year.
