Human Rights Minister meets OHCHR official

The Minister of Human Rights, Ali Al-Dailami, met today, Monday, with the human rights official of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), Safeer Al-Din.
In the meeting, Minister Al-Dailami stressed the importance of the Commission carrying out its roles in protecting human rights in Yemen, monitoring and building capacities and effective partnership in this aspect.
He pointed to the decline in the performance of the OHCHR office in Yemen in the human rights and humanitarian fields in light of the continuation of the crimes of aggression, siege, the reap of victims and the deepening of human suffering in all fields.
Al-Dailami explained that the performance of the UN agencies and their dealings with what Yemeni people are exposed to, especially women and children, in terms of crimes and by the aggression coalition violations and its tools, was disappointing and below the desired level.
He stressed the importance of pressure on the aggression coalition to stop its crimes, politicizing humanitarian files, investigation, careful monitoring, and giving priorities to humanitarian issues the most important and as imposed by international standards, principles and legitimacy.
Al-Dailami reviewed a number of crimes and violations committed by the aggression coalition and is still in the absence of international justice and international protection mechanisms, stressing the importance of evaluation and objective review of the work of the Commission during the last period.
He touched on the activities of the Ministry and its treatment of many problems related to human rights, indicating that the Ministry will continue to work on the principles of human rights and will spare no effort in continuing its struggle to protect the rights of women and children in particular.
Minister Al-Dailami pointed out that the file of the crimes of aggression cannot be abandoned, and it will continue to follow it up, and the blood of the victims will not be wasted.
For his part, Safeer Al-Din pointed out the importance of partnership with the Ministry of Human Rights, in order to ensure an optimal assessment of the human rights and humanitarian situation.
