PRESS RELEASE BY THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION: General Election – 3rd June, 2017: Delivery of Voting Documents by Police Officers

The Electoral Commission notifies those persons whose name appears in the Electoral Register published on 6th May, 2017, subject to additions, deletions and corrections ordered by the Revising Officer, that voting documents will be delivered by the Police daily from Tuesday 9th May until Saturday 20th May, 2017, between 8.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m., and 3.00 p.m. and 9.00 p.m.

The Electoral Commission notifies that voting documents will be delivered only at the address where the voter is registered. This means that it is necessary that, at the place of residence, there should be a responsible adult person over 18 years of age who is a relative, and/or resides or works thereat to receive the voting document/s. Electoral law permits political party representatives to accompany the police officer during the delivery. These representatives are supplied with an authorization tag issued by the Electoral Commission, to be shown on demand.

The voting document should be kept in a safe place, as nobody will be allowed to vote without it on polling day.
