PRESS RELEASE BY THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION: General Election – 3rd June, 2017: nominations of candidates

The Electoral Commissioners notify that they will be in attendance at their office in the Counting Hall Complex at Naxxar from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and from 3.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. on Thursday 11th, Friday 12th, and Saturday 13th May, 2017, to receive nominations by candidates for the forthcoming General Election.

Prospective candidates are advised to present their identity card, and that the top section of the nomination form should reflect the details of the candidate as shown in the electoral register being published on 6th May, 2017. In case that the nomination form needs to be submitted by a representative of the candidate, the representative must supply a specific power of attorney authenticated by a notary public.

Application forms for prospective candidates may be obtained from the Office of the Electoral Commission as from today and during nomination days. Objections to nominations shall be received at the same office during the days and hours established for nominations, as well as on Sunday 14th and Monday 15th May, 2017, during the same hours.
