PRESS RELEASE BY THE MINISTRY FOR JUSTICE, CULTURE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT End of Summer Festival in aid of Dar Bjorn in Bir?ebbu?a launched

Minister for Justice, Culture and Local Government Owen Bonnici has announced the End of Summer Family Weekend Festival in aid of Dar Bjorn, which will be held on the 20th, 21st and 22nd of September at Pretty Bay in Birzebbuga.

Speaking at the launch, Minister Owen Bonnici underlined the need for such cultural events organised for a good cause. “Culture and the arts have become an intrinsic part of our society, and through such platforms not only are we able to promote local talent, but we are also making this sector more accessible.” Owen Bonnici concluded by saying that, “this Government supports such causes, and it is thanks to initiatives of this kind that as a community we are able to give back to those in need.”

This three-day festival will be providing entertainment and fun for all the family. There will be food stalls, a children’s play area, an artisan market and a beach soccer tournament amongst others. The weekend is sure to provide many highlights, and will feature local artists such as Claudia Faniello and Band, Ozzy Lino and Band, Raquel Galdes, Kevin Paul, Kirsten Graham and Matthew James. Tribute acts of renowned artists and bands will also be animating the festival, including Robbie Williams, the Spice Girls, Kylie Minogue, U2, Michael Jackson and Bon Jovi. Activities will start from 17:00 onwards. The audience will also be able to send donations via SMS.

Reusable cups will be available for purchase at only Euros 2.
