PRESS RELEASE BY THE OFFICE OF THE SPEAKER – Speaker Farrugia takes part in the CPA Co-ordinating Committee meeting

In his capacity as the Chairperson of the Small Branches of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), Speaker Anglu Farrugia took part in the 41st meeting of the CPA Co-ordinating Committee, which was held in the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly in Darwin, Australia.

During the meeting, the members of the Co-ordinating Committee discussed the role of the CPA in the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

They agreed that it would be an excellent opportunity to request Speaker Farrugia, as the Chairperson of the CPA Small Branches, to invite the Commonwealth Chair-in-Office, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, to highlight to the United Kingdom the important role that the CPA plays, as well as the benefits that will be derived from the CPA having a prominent role in the forthcoming CHOGM 2018.
