PRESS RELEASE BY THE OFFICE OF THE SPEAKER: Speaker Farrugia’s strategic plan for CPA Small Branches approved

A Strategic Plan for Small Branches of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) for the period 2016 2019, submitted by Speaker Farrugia in his role as the Chairperson of the CPA Small Branches, has been unanimously approved by the Executive Committee of the CPA.

Following his election last December to this prestigious office, Speaker Farrugia communicated with all Small Branches and gathered views and inputs, which were formulated into a Strategic Plan that would help give direction to the work programme of Small Branches.

In order to be able to carry out a broader consultation, the sum of 40,000 sterling was also approved so that this Plan would be further discussed and finalised by the regional Committees in 2017, including the holding of a Small Branches workshop. This would focus on one of the identified thematic areas.

It should be noted that this is the first Strategic Plan for Small Branches that has ever been submitted for as long as the CPA has been set up.
