Recognition of wards will allow FDS children to understand their parents’ patriotic commitment, according to a consultant

Ouagadougou: The recognition of the status of wards of the Nation for 63 children of soldiers who fell at the front will allow them to understand the meaning of the patriotic commitment of their parents who fell on the field of liberation of the Burkinabè Nation, indicated the consultant on issues of radicalization and violent extremism, Dr Souleymane Yago.

‘The FDS fell while defending the homeland, it is completely normal for the State to show its gratitude to their offspring. It is also a measure which will allow these children to understand the meaning of the patriotic commitment of their parents who fell on the ground of the liberation of the Burkinabè Nation,’ rejoiced Dr Souleymane Yago.

The Doctor in educational sciences and consultant on the issues of radicalization and the fight against violent extremism, Souleymane Yago, gave an interview to the AIB on Friday.

For Dr Yago, he is sure that the measure will help to galvanize the troops at the front by reassuring them that their patriotism and thei
r sacrifice will not go in vain.

‘The Nation will always remain grateful for their patriotic commitment,’ he insisted.

For him, this measure must also extend to soldiers disabled as a result of terrorism.

‘Beyond this measure, which is added to others already taken by the State, it is important to continue reflection with a view to ensuring a future for wounded combatant forces, some of whom will no longer be able to join the ranks. and to the families of those who fell at the front.’

However, for Dr Yago, it is also important that the criteria for wards of the Nation are clearly defined and understandable by everyone.

The Burkinabè government recognized last Wednesday the status of wards of the Nation to 63 orphan children of the Defense and Security Forces who died in the fight against terrorism.

For the Minister in charge of Justice, Edasso Rodrigue Bayala, this decree grants rights to the wards of the Nation. This includes free healthcare, schooling and public transport, in addition to moral, materi
al and financial support.

For almost 10 years, Burkina Faso has experienced terrorist attacks which have caused numerous victims, civilians but also in the ranks of the Defense and Security Forces.
