Addis Ababa: President Vladimir Putin has expressed deep condolences to President Sahle-Work Zewde and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed over the tragic consequences of the landslide in southern Ethiopia.
The Russian president wrote, ‘Please accept my deepest condolences in connection with the tragic consequences of landslides in the South of your country.’
In his message to President Sahle-Work Zewde and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, President Putin also expressed sympathy and support to the families of victims as well as wishes for a quick recovery to all injured.
He stated in his message, ‘Please convey words of sincere sympathy and support to the families of victims as well as wishes for a quick recovery to all injured.’
Meanwhile, France has also expressed heartfelt solidarity with the Ethiopian people and offered its deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the hundreds of victims of the landslide that occurred on July 22, 2024.
