STATEMENT BY THE MINISTRY FOR GOZO: Open day in the Animal Welfare section of Gozo

On Sunday 17 March between 10am and 4pm, within the Animal Welfare section of the Ministry would organize open day.

The Minister for Gozo Justyne Caruana said that through this open day, which is an occasion for the whole family, the Ministry must deliver a clear message in favor of a nice gesture to adopt an animal. The Minister Caruana said that the open day will serve to inform those present not only on the work to make this section and dedicated people who are behind it, but also to inform and educate the public about the pets -Customized. The Minister Caruana also said that during this open day will be launched in two important campaigns are the neutering campaign for dogs and cats is made in close collaboration with SPCA Malta and Gozo SPCA.

The Minister Caruana pointed out that over the last year, the Ministry for Gozo has invested strongly in this section by investing in human resources and capital by purchasing a new ambulance and new facilities.

Heidi Grech, from the section of the Animal Welfare said that thanks to the continued support of the Ministry for Gozo is being launched campaign to repair the homeless cats. “This after we received several requests to address the need to reduce the population of cats living abroad and thus reduce the suffering of these same animals and disease while many of them end up dying,” said Heidi Grech.

During the open day, which will take place in experimental government farm in Xewkija, there will be various activities such as party pet, pet photo booth and show dog.
