Libyan Foreign Minister Najla Mangoush expressed her satisfaction to Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Evarist Bartolo on ‘Malta’s offer to support United Nations work to help Libyans live in a united, sovereign and prosperous Libya.’ Minister Mangoush thanked the Maltese Government for supporting the United Nations’ efforts to promote an inclusive intra-Libyan dialogue and in mobilising regional and international support to seek common ground for the common good of all the Libyan people.

Earlier, Minister Bartolo had conveyed Malta’s support to the UN to seek the common good of the Libyan people during a telephone conversation with Stephanie Williams, Special Consultant on Libya to the UN Secretary General. Following the meeting, Ms Williams also expressed ‘her welcome to the State of Malta’s unwavering support for the work of the UN in Libya and the need to return the elections to their established track.’ Ms Williams said that Minister Bartolo and herself stressed the need to intensify and coordinate efforts at the regional and international levels in support of the Libyan people.
