THE MINISTRY FOR TRANSPORT, INFRASTRUCTURE AND CAPITAL PROJECTS Adventure Park inaugurated with an investment of €2.3 million

Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects Ian Borg inaugurated the Adventure Park, the first out of six areas of the Malta National Park, with an investment of €2.3 million with works carried out by the Public Works department.

Minister Ian Borg said, “This is another national dream that, step by step, we are turning it from on paper to reality. This is a hard-working government, a government where the people and their quality of life is of the highest priority, a government that wants to make Malta the leading country in terms of sustainability. Today marks the inauguration of the first area out of six in this largest regeneration that has ever taken place in Ta’ Qali.”

The six areas of the Malta National Park include the adventure park, the concert area, the formal garden, the amphitheatre, the picnic area and the farmers market.

Minister Ian Borg thanked all the workers who worked and contributed to this project especially the Public Works department which is carrying out various work ranging from community projects to national scaled ones.

“We are trying to spread as much open spaces around our country as we can because we truly believe in them and in the positive impact they have on people. We remain committed to work harder than ever so that in a few more months we will be opening up the other areas of this project and therefore giving the largest green space, as large as 60 football stadiums, to all the Maltese and Gozitan people”, said Minister Borg.

The Adventure Park is equipped with new and modern playing equipment which is also accessible to the mobility impaired. In addition, this playing equipment has the facility to be powered by alternative and solar energy. This is to offer a more sustainable space.

The Adventure Park also includes a new irrigation system, a new lighting system as well as new sanitary facilities. The park has been embellished with hundreds of new shrubs, flowers and trees.

This weekend the park will be open to all families where they can spend their leisure time and where many activities for children will take place.
