THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT Rockestra – Times Like These will take place on the 3rd of December

The 12th edition of Rockestra – Times Like These, which will take place on Friday, 3rd December, at the MFCC, Ta’ Qali, was launched.

Rockestra’s artistic director Paul Borg Bonaci and Rockestra’s musical director Sigmund Mifsud gave the details of Rockestra 2021, which will be back with a performance by the National Philharmonic Orchestra and many local artists.

Addressing the press conference held at the Verdala Palace, they expressed their satisfaction with the return of Rockestra, an event which is not only important in terms of entertainment, but also has a positive impact on the help needed by The Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation. They explained how, for the first time, this year’s Rockestra will be held with a seated audience.

Also present at the launch of Rockestra were Minister for National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government José Herrera and Opposition Spokesperson for Culture Karl Gouder, who augured that, as in previous years, Rockestra will be a successful event once again.

President George Vella said that one of the main aims is for this event to unite the people of Malta and Gozo through music. He thanked Paul Borg Bonaci and Sigmund Mifsud in particular for their hard work for the Rockestra event, as well as all the volunteers and artists involved.

Tickets for Rockestra 2021 went on sale on Wednesday, 3rd November, and can be purchased from showshappening.com.mt. For the first week after the launching of this event, one can buy four tickets and get two more for free. Anyone attending Rockestra must present a vaccine certificate.
