THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT The High Commissioner of the Republic of Ghana presents her Letters of Commission to the President of Malta

The High Commissioner of the Republic of Ghana Barbara Akoukor Benisa presented her Letters of Commission to President George Vella at Sant’Anton Palace, Attard.

President Vella and High Commissioner Akoukor Benisa welcomed the presence of resident diplomatic missions in Ghana and Malta adding that it is a clear statement of commitment to the tangible enhancement of bilateral cooperation.

The President observed that despite the distance, common grounds have been identified which have resulted in successful developments in the sectors of trade and investment, tourism, culture and higher education among others.

High Commissioner Akoukor Benisa expressed appreciation to the assistance provided by the Government of Malta in recent years aimed at reinforcing capacity-buliding initiatives in Ghana, also through the provision of scholarships.

Cooperation by Ghana and Malta in the Commonwealth as well as on the issue of migration were also discussed.
