US media lied about Biden’s health, congressman says

Ouagadougou: The American media lied to the people of the United States about the health of President Joe Biden and consciously turned a blind eye to his slips of the tongue and lies. This opinion was expressed in an article for the Wall Street Journal by a member of the United States House of Representatives (Republican from the state of Georgia), Buddy Carter.

‘Americans saw Joe Biden’s health deteriorate, but they were told not to believe it. They heard about the economic recovery, forced to choose what they could pay for – for gas or food. They were told not to believe that [former US President Donald] Trump was being prosecuted under a politicized justice system. Every time Biden stumbled or lied, the media justified it instead of asking him tough questions,’ he wrote.

The congressman indicated that the American press also tried to portray Mr. Trump as a tyrant who was at the head of a “fragmented and divided Republican Party”, even if in reality “the Republicans were united”. ‘It is the media, not the
White House, that should be blamed for covering up the discord among Democrats,’ Carter noted.

Mr. Biden announced on July 21 that he did not intend to run in the November presidential election. Additionally, the US leader announced his support for Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate. According to the television company CBS, the vote on the nomination of the vice president of the Democratic Party in the presidential elections should take place on August 1, rather than during the national convention of the party, which will be held in Chicago (Illinois) from August 19 to August 22.
