Addis Ababa: China-Africa joint cooperation would advance moderation and build a community with a shared future, Chinese President Xi Jinping remarked.
In his keynote address to the opening ceremony of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, President Xi underscored that China and Africa need to jointly advance modernization and build a community with a shared future.
Emphasizing modernization is an inalienable right of all countries of the world, the president stressed the need for jointly advancing modernization that is just and equitable.
He also reaffirmed his county’s commitment to increase exchanges of governance experience with Africa, support all countries in exploring modernization paths befitting their national conditions, and help ensure equal rights and equal opportunities for all countries.
Recalled the friendship between China and Africa transcends time and space, surmounts mountains and oceans, and passes down through generations, Xi Jinping said the founding of the For
um on China-Africa Cooperation in 2000 was a milestone in the history of China-Africa relations.
China has advanced forward hand in hand with African brothers and sisters in the spirit of sincerity, real results, amity and good faith, he added.
‘Thanks to nearly 70 years of tireless efforts from both sides, the China-Africa relationship is now at its best in history,’ he pointed out.
Reflecting on future growth, the president proposed the bilateral relations between China and Africa to be elevated into the level of strategic relations and to an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era.
The president stated that China and Africa should jointly advance modernization that is just and equitable; open and win-win; puts the people first; featuring diversity and inclusiveness; eco-friendly; and underpinned by peace and security.

Moreover, the president pledged to consolidate the ongoing cooperation with Africa to take ten partnership actions for modernization to deepen China-Africa cooperation and spearhead the Global South modernization in the next three years.
The president revealed that China will work with Africa to take partnership actions for mutual learning among civilizations; trade prosperity; industrial chain cooperation; connectivity; development cooperation; health; agriculture and livelihoods; people-to-people exchanges; green development; and common security, the president revealed.
