6,400 replacement ID cards ready for collection in Embu

Embu County Commissioner Jack Obuo has said that some 6, 400 replacement National Identity Cards were ready for collection at Huduma Center.

He said the IDs that arrived recently were of those residents who sought replacement through the centre between September last year and July this year.

Speaking in his office on Wednesday, the County Commissioner appealed to the owners to make a point of collecting them so that they could be able to continue accessing government services.

‘We are telling those who applied for the replacement of their IDs that they are ready for collection,’ he said.

He attributed the delay in processing and issuance to breakdown of printers that has so far been addressed after the government procured new printers.

Additionally, Obuo asked those who applied for fresh registration at various National Registration Bureaus across the county, to continue following-up with the offices.

He assured them of a speedy process as the Department of Registration of Persons had increased its cap
acity in terms of human capacity and equipment.

‘Production is currently going on smoothly and applicants can get their IDs within a month upon registration,’ he said.
