African Youth Leadership Diplomatic Conference kicks off in Addis Ababa

The fourth African Youth Leadership – Diplomatic Conference kicked off in Addis Ababa today.

More than 150 youth delegates from African countries are attending the conference.

Among other relevant subjects, the delegates are anticipated to talk about issues relate to diplomacy and international relations during their three day deliberation.

Opening the conference, Addis Ababa City Mayor Adanech Abiebie said African youth engagement is crucial for achieving continent’s aspiration inviting the youth delegates to visit the Adwa Victory Memorial.

Women and Social Affairs Minister Ergogie Tesfaye said the conference is instrumental to empower youth to engage in African affairs to foster the continent’s development agenda.

Ethiopian Youth Dialogue for Peace Association Executive Director Chala Asefa stated that conducting such conference is critical in improving the participation youth in diplomacy and crucial to achieve the AU’s agenda 2063 and UN agenda 2030.

He urged the AU to consider holding the confe
rence during its annual Summit.

The conference organized by Ethiopian Youth Dialogue for Peace Association in collaboration with the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs and the Addis Ababa City Administration was opened in the presence senior other government officials.
