Masakwe – In Masakwe, the All-Stars team clinched a 3-2 victory over Professionals FC at the Masakwe TVET grounds, inaugurating the NGCDF soccer tournament in the Sensi Ward of the Kitutu Chache North constituency. The event, sponsored by the devolved kitty under the patronage of MP Japheth Nyakundi, saw 16 teams participate in the tournament.
According to Kenya News Agency, the tournament was organized to showcase and nurture youth talent in soccer and sports. He announced substantial prizes for the tournament, with Ksh 200,000 and Ksh 100,000 designated for the winners and runners-up, respectively.
During the inauguration, Nyakundi emphasized the importance of sports, particularly soccer, as a professional avenue and a means to stay engaged during the holidays. He encouraged the community to participate in sports as an alternative to engaging in alcohol or drug abuse, highlighting soccer’s role in providing solace amidst economic challenges.
