CS Ndung’u assures of inclusive, open and safe digital space

The new Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Information, Communications and the Digital Economy Dr. Margaret Nyambura Ndung’u has assured of the Ministry’s commitment to have an inclusive open and safe digital space for economic development.

Dr. Ndung’u said the Ministry will also support other ministries on issues related to Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) so that citizens can use technology for social economic development.

The CS who was speaking at the Ministry’s headquarters at Telposta Towers where she met Heads of Department and Chief Executive Officers of State Corporations under the Ministry said she is keen to learn and understand the operations of various departments and state corporations in the ministry and the people she will be working with.

‘I have been involved in a few of the projects, particularly, coming up with a master plan and policy. So I understand some of the challenges and some of the opportunities,’ said Dr. Ndung’u.

The CS said she is looking forward to interact more bro
adly with officers at various levels as they need to understand issues to enable them contextualize and address the challenges they have.

Principal Secretary for Broadcasting and Telecommunications Prof. Edward Kisiang’ani asked Heads of Department to be readily available to provide briefings about ongoing programmes in their sectors whenever called upon.

The Principal Secretary for ICT and Digital Economy Eng. John Tanui who welcomed the CS to the ministry, assured that officers will support her in delivery of services to the citizenry as per the Ministry’s mandate.
