CS Tuya To Maa Community: Support Elected Leaders

The Cabinet Secretary in Charge of Environment, Forestry, and Climate Change, Ms. Soipan Tuya, has challenged the Maa community to support the elected leaders to spur development.

Ms. Tuya said more development would easily be achieved if people supported the elected leaders to deliver the promises they made to the electorates.

She recalled how successful she was while serving as the women’s representative for Narok County for ten years, because of the support the residents accorded her.

‘I request that you to support me even more as I serve on the docket of a Cabinet Secretary. This will make my work and that of other leaders easy,’ she said.

The CS observed that the strategic decisions made by President William Ruto have brought the value of the dollar down, which will translate into the growth of the economy.

‘The cost of living will go down. But it depends on how you view things. Whether you choose to view the glass as half empty or half full, It is upon you to choose how to view the glass,’ she sai
d.

Ms. Tuya reminded the residents that it’s God who chooses leaders, saying propaganda will not help the country grow.

‘I urge the leaders here to tell the people the truth. They will know that if the value of a dollar goes down, the economy will grow,’ she said.

She called on the leaders to spread messages of peace in the county that would unite all the people living in the county, regardless of their background.

Ms. Tuya spoke during the burial of Narok Township Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Lukas Kudate (ODM), who died after ailing from lung cancer a week ago.

She said the reforms ongoing in the Health Sector will help reduce cases of cancer and other deadly diseases.

The event was attended by a host of leaders led by Narok Governor Patrick Ntutu, Narok County Assembly Speaker Davis Dikir, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, Migori Senator Eddy Oketch, East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) David Sankok, Narok North MP Agnes Pareyio, and Narok West MP Gabriel Tongoyo.
