According to Ethiopian News Agency, Ethiopians from all walks of life have united today in a historic nationwide tree-planting campaign, aiming to set a new milestone by planting 700 million saplings in a single day. The initiative has seen millions across the East African nation turn out from dawn to dusk. The participants aim to break their own record by planting the targeted saplings as part of Ethiopia’s Green Legacy Initiative.
The Government Communication Service disclosed that by 1:00 PM, over 517.3 million tree seedlings have already been planted across Ethiopia in this single day Green Legacy Initiative campaign.
