Addis Ababa: Ethiopia’s Ambassador to China,Tefera Derbew, has been awarded as the News Person of the Year 2023 by the Home and Abroad News Press Magazine on 29 December 2023, in Beijing, China.
Home and Abroad News Press Magazine is recognized as one of the Major Media Channels by the Chinese Government.

During the Awarding ceremony, Ambassador Tefera expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the President of China Home and Abroad News Press, Wei Yan, for the award as Home and Abroad News Person of the Year 20223, according Ethiopian Embassy in Beijing.
He appreciated the important role that the media is playing in diplomacy and international relations.
He stated that Ethiopia and China enjoy historic friendships that have been championing over the past 50 years.
