GIPF suspends employee for unprocedural transaction

The Government Institutions Pension Fund (GIPF) on Monday suspended an employee after it discovered an alleged unprocedural transaction of N.dollars 124 000 that did not follow the fund’s approval and payment procedures.

GIPF Acting Chief Executive Officer Onno Amutenya in a media statement on Wednesday said the suspect was employed as a benefits administrator.

Amutenya said the incident was traced during the fund’s scheduled financial reconciliation routine on Friday, 08 September 2023, which indicated a breach in the payment process of a resignation benefit amounting to N.dollars 124 000.

“The fund has launched a full investigation and wishes to reiterate its position of zero tolerance of unethical behaviour and conduct. GIPF will leave no stone unturned in the investigation process and will ensure any guilty party faces the true wrath of the law,” he said.
