Jigjiga: Adem Farah, Vice President of the Prosperity Party and Head of the Coordination Center for Democracy Building, with the rank of Deputy Prime Minister, has lauded Ethiopia’s Green Legacy Initiative as an exemplary program that is promoting environmental sustainability and national development.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, Adem Farah, along with Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh, participated in the national effort to plant seedlings in Jigjiga City, Somali Region. This initiative is part of an ambitious target to plant 700 million seedlings within a single day, under the broader theme ‘Revival Through Planting,’ which aims to plant 7.5 billion seedlings across the country by 2025.
A significant milestone for this year is the successful planting of 700 million seedlings in one day, marking a record-breaking achievement that highlights Ethiopia’s ability for large-scale, coordinated environmental initiatives. Adem Farah and Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh took part in this significant national effort by planting seedlings in Jigjiga City, Somali Region.
He highlighted the initiative’s extensive impact, emphasizing its role in climate change mitigation, job creation, food security, and enhancing agricultural productivity. Adem Farah also pointed out the increasing public engagement, with citizens actively participating in planting efforts across various regions, including Beneki.
Adem noted that the Green Legacy Initiative is not just a national mission but a global model worthy of emulation, underlining its importance in the global fight against climate change. He urged all Ethiopians and institutions to contribute to the campaign.
