The National Celebrations Committee (NCC) today toured Kericho County to inspect the Kericho green stadium and other facilities ahead of the Mashujaa Day celebrations to be held this year in Kericho.
The team which was led by the Kericho County Commissioner Mr. Michael Lesimam and NCC Director Mr. Paul Famba led the team from National government and County Government in a joint inspection of the status of Kericho Green Stadium and other key facilities like car parking spaces.
The team recommended various drastic changes to be undertaken on the stadium which include the building of a new state pavilion, more terraces to cater for hundreds of wananchi, opening up of space around the stadium and creation of more gates to allow entry and exit of wananchi into and out of the stadium.
The team is expected to lead a thorough renovation of the stadium to give a national outlook and match the presidential standards.
Kericho County which is known for its cool weather will be expecting thousands of people to grace the Mashujaa Celebrations to be held on 20th October 2023 being the first the county.
