Netanyahu bans ministers from commenting on security issues: media

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered his ministers to refrain from any comments on the security situation “in the coming days”, in the context of a possible attack by Iran and the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah, informs the radio Kan.

According to the radio, Netanyahu described the coming days as “fateful”, stressing that public debate on security issues could have “fatal consequences”. Kan notes that, according to the latest assessments in Israel, Tehran is determined to launch an attack.

The situation in the Middle East has sharply worsened after the assassination in Tehran of the head of the political bureau of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas, Ismaïl Haniyeh, and the elimination in Beirut of one of the commanders of the military branch of the Shiite movement Hezbollah, Fouad Chokr. Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah blamed Israel for what happened and said they would not let it go unanswered.
