Parents are being urged to closely keep an eye and take care of their children during the August holiday.
While speaking in Kilgoris town, Chuck Masua, the Deputy County Commissioner (DCC), Trans Mara West, Sub-county, emphasizes the importance of parental supervision, during the August break and said that it is a long holiday break.
‘Take care of your children; we don’t want to see school dropouts when schools re-open,’ he said.
The DCC stated that with schools now closed, it is crucial for parents to act as custodians for their children until school reopens. Ensuring their safety and supervision during this period is essential.
He encouraged parents to spend more time with their children, check on their academic progress, while in school, and motivate them.
Masua further highlighted the government’s commitment in achieving a 100 percent transition rate in education, stressing the need for parental involvement to meet this goal.

n the dangers of early marriages, Female genital mutilation, and other harmful practices.
Kirui also urged parents to engage their children in productive activities, to keep them occupied and prevent them from social ills occasioned by becoming idle during the holiday.
