Penniless bright girl’s education dream saved by MCA


Awasi Onjiko ward MCA Maurice Ngeta has come to the rescue of a destitute family from Kakmie village in Onjiko sub location of Nyando Sub County that could not afford the tuition fee for their daughter to join Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University.

Chairlady of the Awasi Onjiko ward bursary kitty Mrs Millicent Akinyi Onaka affirmed that MCA Ngeta learned of the girl’s plight through social media and intervened to assist her continue with education.

The destitute girl scored a mean grade of B plain at Konim Secondary school in Nyando Sub County.

‘We stumbled on the plight of Anyango who was unable to proceed with her further studies at the University due to lack of school fees on social media and our area MCA Ngeta took the initiative to fund her university education through the MCA’s bursary kitty that saw the girl land Sh100,000 bursaries with a further pledge from the MCA to accord her support through her entire undergraduate course.

The mother of the needy student Eunice Atieno, who is a widow, expressed
her gratitude for the support accorded her child who beamed with joy at luck having smiled her way.

‘I give sincere gratitude to our MCA for bailing us out with school fees and it’s our prayer that he shall continue to stand with us,’ said Atieno

‘My name is Millicent Anyango and am the beneficiary of the MCA’s scholarship and my hopes had previously been dimmed but now the MCA has helped resuscitate my hopes of achieving my dream and we pray that God abundantly blesses MCA Ngeta’ beamed Anyango.
