PM Extends Best Wishes to Muslims, Reiterates Vision to Repair Fractures and Strengthen Unity


Addis Ababa: Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, in his message to Muslims celebrating the Eid al-Fitr tomorrow, reiterated Ethiopia’s vision to repair historical fractures and strengthen multi-national unity.

The premier praised the goods deeds demonstrated during the month of Ramadan.

‘The month of Ramadan that just ended was peaceful, and we helped the poor and the needy. It was a month when we supported one another; and Ethiopians of different faiths showed their multi-national unity. These are the beacons for our future journey,’ he noted.

Recalling the difficulties the country faced, the PM stated that those hurdles have given the nation lessons that help it to overcome challenges together.

He added that like a good muslim who makes use of the blessing, spiritual power and ability gained during Ramadan to extend up to the next Ramadan, ‘we should take the values we gained in the month to enable us reach the next chapter where we ensure prosperity.’

Abiy pointed out that peace, forgiveness and love are the v
alues, and the main goal of the country is to overcome contemporary challenges with Medemer and forgiveness.

Most importantly, for the prime minister, Ethiopia’s vision is repairing historical fractures and strengthening multi-national unity.

He stressed that this will ensure the destination of Ethiopia to be an all round prosperity.
