PRESS RELEASE BY THE OFFICE OF THE PRIME MINISTER

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, accompanied by Anthony Agius Decelis, Parliamentary Secretary for Persons with Disability and Active Aging and Clifton Grima, Parliamentary Secretary for Youth, Sport and Voluntary Organisations, met with a delegation from Special Olympics International, headed by US envoy swimming Olympian champion Donna de Verona, David Evangelista, CEO of Special Olympics Europe � Eurasia, and Special Olympics Malta President Michelle Muscat.

Special Olympics International applauded the Government of Malta for the recent measure taken by the government to sustain families and individuals who are challenged with disabilities, stating that such benefits are not even available in countries such as the United States. The Prime Minister confirmed his government’s support towards NGOs working with children with disabilities such as Special Olympics, and pledged his government’s ongoing commitment to help Special Olympics Malta.
