PRESS RELEASE ISSUED BY THE MINISTRY FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS: Malta will continue to stand behind the Libyan people’s efforts to transform Libya into a secure, democratic and unified state

This morning Minister for Foreign Affairs George W. Vella addressed the Malta-Germany-Libya Business Encounter organised by the Libyan-Maltese Chamber of Commerce and held at the Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry in Valletta.

Minister Vella thanked the initiators and organisers of the event and reiterated the Ministry for Foreign Affairs’ and his personal commitment to the resuscitation of the commercial vibe with Libya.

In his address, Minister Vella stated that Malta will continue to stand behind the Libyan people’s efforts to transform Libya into a secure, democratic and unified state, a commitment which Malta will be taking forward during the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Immediately following his speech, Minister Vella delved into an impromptu resume of the current situation in Libya.
