PRESS RELEASE ISSUED BY THE MINISTRY FOR THE ECONOMY, INVESTMENT AND SMALL BUSINESS: Speech by Minister for the Economy, Investment and Small Business, Chris Cardona at Malta Day celebrations in Dubai

Good evening.

It is indeed a great pleasure for me to be back in Dubai, to celebrate this important anniversary.

I thank you for your presence here, which continues to be a testament to the strong and close bilateral relations that exist between our two countries.

Malta and Dubai formally established diplomatic relations in 1973 and since then, both of our countries have, in different times and circumstances, expressed and extended mutual solidarity when the occasion presented itself.

These relations are based on a solid foundation of genuine trust and mutual respect marked by historical events, and I and the Government of Malta are convinced that they will endure the test of time.

In the past years, the Maltese Government, and Malta Enterprise more specifically, on various occasions has brought delegations of Maltese business leaders to the Gulf region.

Malta fully intends to keep working on strengthening our bilateral relationship for the benefit of both our countries throughout 2016 and the years to come.

I am sure that, events like these will continue to connect and reinforce the already strong ties which exist between our respective countries and, furthermore, will see a continued development of diplomatic and economic links for the benefit of all players.

I wish you all a very pleasant evening and I thank you for having chosen to celebrate this day with us.

I look forward to meeting you all during this event.

Thank you.
