STATEMENT BY THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE AND THE MINISTRY OF TOURISM Thanks to all workers involved in the fight against drug trafficking

The Minister of Finance Edward Scicluna and Tourism Minister Konrad Mizzi addressed a conference of news in the Freeport of Malta to personally thank all involved employees for good work they are doing against drug trafficking .

The Minister of Finance – citing the drug catches fail to make customs officers in collaboration with Freeport officials and police – said “this is due to investment sophisticated machinery, a serious approach, support and teamwork to be paying off and that I rikkonoxxenti to workers ‘commitment’.

The Minister Scicluna added that the success achieved is noted not only from countries around the world but in practice is showing that our country is combat drug trafficking and money laundering and it all makes honor our country with respect to the rule of law.

The Minister Konrad Mizzi showed satisfaction for the extraordinary amount of drug that is successful in gaining the Maltese Customs with the help of officials and security device Freeport. He said that successful procedures introduced in Malta Freeport must be replicated in the Malta International Airport. Talk about the importance of international reputation to have Malta Freeport to ensure that it continues to develop internationally.

This news conference was also addressed by the Director General of Customs Joseph Chetcuti.
