STATEMENT BY THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT AND THE OFFICE OF THE DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER AND THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH

Inaugurated ‘The garden of Sir Anthony Mamo Hospital – a project of the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation in collaboration with the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Ministry of Health

The President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health Chris Fearne inaugurated “The orchard of Oncology Hospital of Sir Anthony Mamo. “The orchard, is an open space with the hospital where he is possible for patients to come out of the halls while they care to spend some time with visitors wonderful environment to complement the construction of the hospital.

The President Coleiro Preca said that ‘the orchard, is a result of collaboration the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation had with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health Chris Fearne and health authorities, along with the community commercial and voluntary organizations which all had words of thanks. She said that to this project made specially collected funds from the business community and unused funds from the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation. In view of this, the President thanked the business community for having embraced fully the value of corporate Social Responsibility , in the most practical way of helping to patients and their relatives have far relax Seren environment and wonderful.

On his part the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health Chris Fearne said that apart from the most advanced infrastructure, together with top quality medicines, medical and professional staff at all its levels, now hospitalized oncology is equipped with a place of the most complementary, with an environment that helps in less friendly stage in progress by the patient and relatives.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that it is proven scientifically that anything in life that can improve the morale of who is going through a difficult time together with his close ones and those who are treating him help to better results.

“The orchard” is substantially large space, which stand out the small trees and plants with broken flower containers and not planted in the ground, surrounded b’bankijiet, chairs and tables. Part of “The orchard, is also intended for children where they can jirrekjaraw themselves.
