THE MALTA COMPETITION AND CONSUMER AFFAIRS AUTHORITY Product recall | Baby costume: ‘Nebeans’ Captain America

The Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority (MCCAA) would like to inform the public about the dangers of the baby costume with the theme Captain America branded NeBeans. The baby costume comes with a cap that has a long fabric cord which poses a risk of strangulation.

This baby costume is being recalled as this does not comply with the requirements of the General Product Safety Directive and applicable European standards. The long cord of the cap can get tangled with the baby neck causing strangulation.

As a result, the MCCAA has taken the appropriate procedures to ensure that this product is removed from the local market. Consumers who had bought this product should refrain from using them and, where possible, return them to the retailer from where they bought them. Retailers are obliged to redress consumers, which remedy can take the form of replacement of the recalled product with a safe one.
