THE OFFICE OF THE DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER AND MINISTRY FOR HEALTH: Update on amber list

The Superintendent of Public Health notifies that, by virtue of Article 27 (c) of the Public Health Act, the list of countries on the amber list has been updated. Maltese citizens and/or Maltese residents need to show a vaccine certificate recognised by the Maltese authorities or negative nasopharngeal PCR COVID-19 test performed no longer than seventy-two (72) hours prior to arrival.

Austria

Belgium

Bulgaria

Canada

China

Croatia

Cyprus

Czech Republic

Estonia

France

Germany

Greece

Hungary

Iceland

Ireland

Israel

Italy

Japan

Jordan

Latvia

Lebanon

Liechtenstein

Lithuania

Luxembourg

Monaco

Netherlands

New Zealand

Norway

Poland

Portugal

Romania

San Marino

Singapore

Slovakia

South Korea

Spain

Sweden

Switzerland

Thailand

Turkey

United States of America but only limited to the following states: Washington, Oregon, Louisiana, Arizona, West Virginia, Colorado, North Dakota, Indiana, Georgia, Texas, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Tennessee, Iowa, Nebraska, Ohio, South Carolina, New Mexico, Florida, Virginia, Maine, South Dakota, Michigan, Illinois, Delaware, Wisconsin, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, New Jersey, Minnesota, Connecticut, Alaska, New Hampshire, Maryland, New York, Rhode Island, District of Columbia, Massachusetts, Vermont, California.

Persons who are in possession of a vaccination certificate which is recognised and approved by the Superintendent of Public Health may also travel to and from Malta from any country listed below:

Belarus, Belize, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bhutan, Fiji, Jamaica, Georgia, Faroe Islands, Kosovo, Kazakhstan, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Moldova, Vietnam, Egypt, Iran, Libya, Panama, Qatar, Cuba, Russia, Serbia, Taiwan, Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia.

Both notices shall come into effect on Thursday 17th June 2021.
