President of Malta George Vella visited the Koperattiva Produtturi tal-Halib (Milk Producers Cooperative), where he was able to follow the production process of both traditional products and also of others that have evolved over the years.
“When looking at this process, one understands well how important everyone’s role is, from top to bottom”, said the President, who in his address to the workers present spoke, amongst other things, about how it was the innovation that has kept this cooperative both popular with buyers and competitive in the market.
The President noted how, while raw material and animal feed prices had notably risen, sales on the other hand had declined due to the pandemic. He expressed his appreciation for the cooperative’s continued support to those in need, including the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation, also through the ‘CrowdFunding for L-Istrina’ initiative, which was launched in December of last year and for which the cooperative also gave its support.
