World Specialty Coffee Conference and Exhibition 2023 are underway in Tokyo.
The specialty coffee conference and exhibition was opened by Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Japan, Daba Debele along with president of Specialty Coffee Association of Japan and ambassadors of Coffee Exporting Countries, according to Ethiopian Embassy in Tokyo.
The event, organized by the Specialty Coffee Association of Japan (SCAJ) in Tokyo, has attracted numerous coffee growers, exporters, importers and processors worldwide.
Ethiopian Coffee Association president, general manager and 45 Ethiopian coffee exporters are participating at the event.
Ethiopian Embassy in Tokyo along with exporters and coffee association is conducting Ethiopian specialty coffee conference showcasing a variety of Ethiopian specialty coffee beans, Ethiopian coffee ceremony aided by visual and video explanation.
The event will last until September 29, 2023, and there will be side meetings between Ethiopian and Japanese coffee importers.
The 2023 SCAJ World Specialty Coffee Conference and Exhibition celebrates the 20th anniversary of the SCAJ, and will also include lectures and cupping sessions.
Founded in 1987, the Specialty Coffee Association of Japan aims to promote the consumption of specialty-grade coffee among Japanese consumers and support sustainable coffee production.
The event will also host the 2023 Japanese barista, cup tasters, and coffee roasting championship.
