UNHCR Europe situations: Data and trends – Arrivals and displaced populations (December 2022)

UKRAINE SITUATION

The war in Ukraine triggered a major increase in humanitarian needs as a result of the mass internal displacement and refugee outflows. As of 31 December 2022, 7,900,139 refugees from Ukraine were recorded across Europe, while 4,896,361 registered for Temporary Protection or similar national protection schemes. Within Ukraine, some 5.9 million people were internally displaced beginning of December.
